It Never rains in Southern California...then what does it do?

Global Warming in California has gotten pretty hectic. According to www.edf.org, water supplies are deteriorating. People get their water from a snow-melt and eventually using the snow-melt so often will produce less water. There is damage to the marine systems; rising sea levels are harming the coast and fishing areas. Rain is also becoming heavier and is causing more floods. Because of the higher temperatures crops are going to start getting a little dusty. In, my terms, it means that crops are going to dry out or get smaller.

Heatwave

Because of the continuous changing of the climate, even the United States. There are other regions in the U.S. that all have different changes but the Midwest should know what's going on in their region (plus I live in the Midwest). The heatwaves in the summer are going to cause lower air quality, and increase and insect diseases. Crops will also start to produce less and less. Also a lot of Animals in the Midwest will me migrating to much warmer regions in the winter and spring. Can you believe it? MORE mosquitoes! get the OFF! bug repellent ready.

The Birth Place of Humanity

"The African continent is a rich mosaic of ecosystems, ranging from the snow and ice fields of Kilimanjaro to tropical rainforests to the Saharan desert. Although it has the lowest per capital fossil energy use of any major world region, Africa may be the most vulnerable continent to climate change because widespread poverty limits countries capabilities to adapt. Signs of a changing climate in Africa have already emerged: spreading disease and melting glaciers in the mountains, warming temperatures in drought-prone areas, and sea-level rise and coral bleaching along the coastlines."

This is from a site called http://www.climatehotmap.org/africa.html. I think this is a really bad case of "Climate change" because Africa is where humans started. This land has some of the richest raw materials and those materials are being robbed for every other country's benefit. It's really unfortunate that this is happening and it's also sad that people are losing everything due to the fact that they have barely anything to profit from. The crazy thing is that because mother earth is sick her children have become sick as well.

Global Warming in Antarctica

We all know that the glaciers and ice caps and what-have-you are melting tin Antarctica. The temperature is constantly changing and it gets higher and higher every year. The Antarctic Peninsula has been argued over because when the Larsen B ice shelf started melting in 2002, it seemed that this was the first sign of global warming. Lastly, Antarctica is supposed to be cold with no plant life at all, correct? well get this. Due to the climate change instead of snowfall in Antarctica's summer periods it's actually raining and causing plant life to come in. I don't know about any one else but this is something that the world needs to be aware of and "Going Green" is more than recycling. Humankind should stop robbing the Earth so much of it's raw material. we're taking entirely too much.

Off Topic

While watching a video called "Did You Know", I realized that America is falling off. We aren't in a high percentage educationally. Other countries are "up on" education and technology, as well as population. I think this is pretty nuts because it seems like Americans are dying out and litterally dumbing down. Honestly I want to move to India or Japan because I want to broaden my education. This is pretty sad because It may be hard to find a job. It's kind of like America is getting its own karma. We were the riches country in the world and eventually we may turn into a third world country, but that's just my own prediction.

So...welcome

My name is Ariel Ward (Ziggy Ameera Taigi). My blog is about the consciousness of what is happening to our home planet. in my opinion, had it not been for the industrial revolution, the earth would still be in good condition. I also feel that we may be too late because no matter how many times people were told before to recycle nothing happened. Now all of a sudden the people that didn't care about McDonald's wrappers on the street are trying to go green.
